Course Overview

Receive recertification for your Medical First Responder certificate, prior to its 3-year expiration date and, refresh your lifesaving skills for on-scene basic emergency patient care.

Revisit the fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and medical terminology. The skills you will review will enable you to provide first-on-scene basic emergency care to patients before Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrives and to provide patient care support once EMS has arrived on scene.

This course is currently approved as an Advanced First Aid equivalency through Alberta Occupational Health & Safety.

  • Face to Face: Where: In-person meetings. When: Course is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Face-to-face instruction at all class meetings. Location may be on campus or at a worksite.
