Payment Options

Check your payment deadlines

You must pay your tuition and fees by the payment deadline, or have other funding in place by this date. If you are a student in Continuing Education, Open Studies or Apprenticeship, your fees are due when you enrol. As processing times vary, plan ahead and pay early. You must be enrolled in your courses for your tuition to be calculated.

Need to pay your tuition right now?

Some payment methods take longer to process than others – don't risk missing your tuition and fees deadline! If you need to pay tuition and fees quickly, please consider one of the following immediate payment options: credit card or Visa or Mastercard debit or Pre-Authorized debit.

Payment Plans are also now available to eligible students. If you can't pay your full tuition and fees by the deadline, enrol in a payment plan to avoid having your classes dropped for non-payment.

You'll pay your fees directly through PayMyTuition. To access the payment portal:

  • Login to your MyNAIT portal, select Open Self Service
  • Select Financial Account to access PayMyTuition Payment Center
  • Choose select your bank location and be redirected to PayMyTuition, your secure payment portal.

NAIT Students’ Association (NAITSA) fees are not covered by the payment plan. You must pay these fees separately in PayMyTuition by the tuition deadline.

  • Please make cheques, money orders and bank drafts payable to NAIT or Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

NAIT will no longer accept any form of in-person payment, including in-person debit transactions.

Foundational Learning Assistance

If you have been approved for funding through the Foundational Learning Assistance program (formerly Alberta Works) for ESL or Academic Upgrading, scan and email your approval to Financial Aid. Once processed (which can take up to 5 business days), a sponsorship code will be added to your account.

Academic Upgrading students must notify NAIT of their funding before the tuition deadline to avoid being dropped from classes. If your application has not been approved by the deadline, be prepared to pay the tuition and be reimbursed when approval letter is submitted.

It may take several weeks for NAIT to apply your funding. Until then, your account will show an overdue charge. This is normal and won't negatively impact on you as long as the sponsorship code is applied.

Follow these steps to access your funding details:

  • Log in to MyNAIT
  • Click on Self Service and select Tasks (you may also find this on the homepage of MyNAIT)
  • Review Holds & Funding
  • Click on Sponsorship Code to find the code for the upcoming term
