Apprentices, here's what you need to know to apply to NAIT trades programs

 1. Register online

Start your training registration online at MyTradesecrets

Apprentices in Alberta must apply to NAIT through an online, secure website called MyTradesecrets, a service provided by Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).

  • You will use My Tradesecrets to submit your registration online. Follow step-by-step application process, ensuring you fill out all required fields. This includes providing details about your education history and paying application fees.
  • You will not need to check My Tradesecrets after you have completed and submitted your registration.

Email address

We recommend using the same email address for both NAIT (MyNAIT Portal) and My Tradesecrets so all registration and program updates are easily accessible from the same inbox.

What you will need:

  • Alberta Student Number
    Look up your ASN
  • Email address
  • Valid credit card
    (pay non-refundable application fee)

 2. Confirm and schedule your training

Create your MyNAIT Portal account

Your admissions updates and notifications will be sent to your NAIT student portal account. It's important to check it frequently throughout the application process.

  • If you have attended or applied to NAIT in the past and have already created a MyNAIT account, please use your existing account.
  • You will need to have received an email with your NAIT student ID to create an account.
